My Journey as a Freelance Brand Designer

If you’re a beginner or aspiring brand designer, I’ve created resources and a guide to help you get started. Get your copy and start your journey with clarity and direction.

Hi! I'm Shone,

I'm a Brand Identity Designer based in the Philippines. I discovered my passion for design during the pandemic, something I never expected, and built a career that allows me to express my creativity and bring brands to life.

Since 2020, I’ve worked with nearly a hundred brands, both local and international, helping them translate their vision into intentional, strategic, and cohesive design. Every business has a unique story, and my role is to turn it into visuals that are stunning, memorable, and aligned with your goals.

I don’t just design, I create brand identities that connect, inspire, reflect you, and help your brand stand out confidently.

My Journey

I didn’t start as a Brand Design expert. I began confused, undervalued, and broke.

During the pandemic, when the industry I worked in at Resorts World Manila shut down, I knew I had to pivot. I chose brand design, but I had no design degree, no expensive tools, not even a laptop. Just my phone and the PicsArt app. I didn’t even know Canva existed yet.

I started as “just a logo designer,” creating ₱200 logos with no strategy behind them. I thought having a logo made me a designer, it didn’t.

What changed everything was learning systems, strategy, and positioning. I stopped designing random logos and started building full brand identities. I developed a process, created a professional client experience, and presented work strategically.

What Shifted My Career?

Branding didn’t just give me income, it gave me leverage.

  • Consistent, reliable earnings

  • Steady client inquiries

  • Opportunities with local and international clients

  • Referrals and long-term projects

  • Ability to invest in better tools and education

Not because I was the most talented, but because I operated like a professional.

That’s why I created the Designer Kit

It’s more than learning design, it’s about becoming a Brand Design Expert. Someone who looks credible, prices confidently, and delivers like a pro.

If I can go from ₱200 logos on a phone to running a structured brand design business, you can too, without figuring it out alone.
